ABOUT CIJ

12, November 2008

Juvenile Integration Centers (CIJ) is a non-profit civil association founded in 1969 and incorporated in the Secretariat of Health with the objective of addressing the issue of drug consumption among Mexican youth. Back then it was an incipient public health problem.

An organized community group leaded by Mrs Kena Moreno made an effort to counteract the increasing drug abuse and increase public awareness of this problem among the different social sectors. This pioneer and visionary work settled with the foundation of the Care Center for Young Drug Addicts. Later, this initiative united the efforts of diverse organisms, people (federal authorities among them) and the community in general.

CIJ have almost 40 years of experience in the field of drugs and carry out activities directed to the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and scientific research on drug consumption in Mexico.

Through the years, the institution has extended its structure, programs and services based on a shared commitment with the society and a renovated spirit day by day.
